Fresno, more than just a stop along the way...
Often Fresno is best known as a way-stop to one of several national parks, like Yosemite, Kings Canyon, Sequoia, or Pinnacles. Or to the central coast for a day of walking on beach, or eating at one of the many wonderful restaurants that can be found in Monterey, San Luis Obispo, or Carmel by the Sea. Maybe it's a day of wine tasting in Paso. In any case, many who live in Fresno will tell you that one of the best things about Fresno is everything is so close. A short drive in one direction puts you beside a mountain stream or lake. Drive in the other direction and you will find your self with a glass of wine or a microbrew in hand, over looking the Pacific. And, while this is all true, Fresno really is more than a way-stop to somewhere else. From one of more than 15 wineries in the immediate area, or one of the 10 area golf courses. Fresno has all of the amenities you'd expect from a coastal city. Spas where you'll find complete relaxation. Restaurants that not only rival, but in many cases surpass those you'd find in the Bay area, this is especially true when it comes to the diversity of the types of food you'll find in Fresno. From Northern and Southern Indian cuisine, to several different types of Mediterranean restaurants (Armenian, Persian, Greek, Moroccan, and Lebanese), to Thai, Vietnamese, Laotian, or Cambodian. Food, Arts, & Culture make Fresno a truly unique place in beautiful California.
